Guilds

Faire of Champions is now welcoming guilds (camp clans) to join us! Guild leaders and/or appointed representatives interested in having a guild presence at Faire of Champions should come visit us during a work weekend.

A private guild site is separate from general camping and assigned to the guild who is responsible for that piece of land year-round. If you are a guild leader or representative interested in having a private guild space, please read the rules below and then email guilds@faireofchampions.com for further information and to schedule a site walkthrough.

Guild Rules for Holding Land

  1. Season 2026, guild work weekends will be held on the third weekend of the month during the offseason. We will share the dates for February, March, April, May, September, October, and set up weekends in December. We skipped a few months due to summer heat, but we still welcome folks.

  2. Guilds that wish to work exclusively on their guild site on weekends other than the designated guild work weekends must pay the standard camping fee of $15 per person.

    • New guilds are exempt from this rule for the first year so that they can complete the guild space by the third weekend in October.

  3. All guilds holding land before April 1st, 2025, must have their site cleared and ready for Season 2026 by October 18th, 2025, which is the last guild work weekend for the year.

    • If you need more time to complete your guild site don't hesitate to get in touch with the Guild Coordinator to ask for an extension into your second year.

  4. Due to the unpredictability of Texas weather and the risk of damage to guild property, FoC has revised its guild land rules concerning the storage of tents, campers, RVs, and trailers on the property during the off-season to keep the campgrounds and fair in excellent condition throughout the off-season and into the season.

    • Guild members are highly encouraged to volunteer in the Woodcock Woodlands and FoC proper during the offseason. The volunteer perk system is well worth it. VISIT faireofchampions.com OR EMAIL volunteer@faireofchampions.com FOR DETAILS ON VOLUNTEERING.

    • For liability insurance reasons, campers, RVs, and trailers cannot stay on site during the off-season. Check with the Guild Coordinator for exceptions.

    • Storage structures and approved structures can stay on the property as long as they are weatherized and secured for the off-season.

    • Guild members who want to leave their tent in their guild site must check on it and maintain it each month it remains there. If they cannot do so, they can provide written permission for another member of the guild to maintain it during that month. If a guild member cannot come out to check on their tent for two consecutive months, it must be removed for the remainder of the off-season.  Maintenance includes clearing brush, cleaning up trash, removing or replacing damaged property, and so on.

    • Any property left on the guild site must be weatherized, secured, and properly tied down during the offseason. Ensure items are stored safely and all frames are secured.

    • Guilds that pack up their camp at the end of the season must ensure their site is clean and clear when they leave. Leave no trace. We want the campgrounds to look just as good as the fair, even in the off-season. There are trash cans on the property that guilds may use.

    • In the event of a storm where property at a guild site is damaged, members will be asked to come out within a month to assess and repair the damage. If they do not rectify it within the month, they will receive a demerit. Three demerits forfeit the guild’s land holding.

    • If a guild requires an exception to any of these rules, contact the Guild Coordinator to explore alternative options.

    • We appreciate everyone's cooperation and dedication to keeping our community thriving!

  5. Guilds are to lead by example in following the campground’s rules set by Woodcock Woodlands.

  6. A guild must have a minimum of 15 active members over the age of 18 years to be assigned and hold guild land.

  7. Guilds must have a minimum of 50% of their members on site during the duration of the Faire of Champions Season on every weekend of the fair.

  8. Guilds are expected always to keep their site clean and clear of trash, food, and debris.

  9. If general camping runs out of space, guilds may be asked to take in overflow campers.

  10. Guild sites not being actively used will be used for overflow of general camping during Faire of Champions season at the discretion of FoC and/or Woodcock Woodlands.

  11. Guild sites not being actively used may be rented out during off-season for any off-season event at the discretion of FoC or Woodcock Woodlands. Guild leaders will be notified if the campgrounds have been rented out, and guilds will not have access during that event. Otherwise, access will be worked out on a case-by-case basis between guild leaders and the guild coordinator.

  12. Guilds on Wandering Way will have an activity created for the public, which will benefit the path and is approved and registered with Woodcock Woodlands during FoC.

  13. Any Guilds holding activities on their sites that are open to the public must have that event approved and registered with Woodcock Woodlands and FoC.

  14. Any Guilds holding activities that are adult in nature (ie: nudity and/or sexual activity) are to wait until 10 PM to begin, AND post signs at their entrances that no one under the age of 18 and/or 21 is allowed to enter. Any minors camping with the guild hosting are the direct responsibility of their parents or legal guardians.

  15. Any buildings on guild sites must be temporary as per Anderson County and approved by Woodcock Woodlands. If the guild becomes inactive, any structures must be removed or sold.

  16. Guilds may treat their area for ticks and other pests with natural treatments only. Diatomaceous earth, permethrin (chrysanthemum derivative), or neem oil products are recommended.

  17. Privacy screening may be placed around camp showers, toilets, and adult activities.

  18. All guild spaces are subject to pre-season, during-season, and post-season inspection to ensure that all rules and standards are being adhered to.

  19. There will be a 3-demerit system for these rules. Failure to comply can and will result in the loss of guild land.

*Rules for Guilds at Woodcock Woodlands are subject to change at any time for any reason without notice. Violators may be subject to removal from campgrounds and suspension of campground privileges, up to and including loss of land holding.

** For liability insurance reasons, Faire of Champions and Woodcock Woodlands cannot be used for storage of RVs, campers, or trailers.

** Any questions, concerns, or requests for an exception can be directed to Kim Miller: Guild Coordinator: guilds@faireofchampions.com.
